Thorsten,
I don't know if you have a copy of it with all the prefixes removed, but would you mind sending it to me? I tried again yesterday evening removing all the prefixes and it didn't work, for whatever reason.
Another thought -- is caching enabled?
Nellie

Re: restore backup
Okay, so I did a find/replace and took out all the prefixes but there seems to be a problem with anything of an index key of "1" especially concerning admin accounts. It just stops importing the data. Are there any tables in particular that I can import individually just to get my questions back?

Re: restore backup
I should add that all the table names are different in each one. On the GoDaddy host, they're all prefixed with pmf_, probably because it was an upgrade? In the Flexihostings MySQL database, none of the tables have the pmf_ prefix

Re: restore backup
I'm also having problems trying to restore a backup. I'm testing on another webhost (Flexihostings) to see if it's GoDaddy that's making things slow, and I installed 2.5.5 there. I have 2.5.5 on the GoDaddy shared plan as well.

Apostrophe in titles -- ASCII code?
Thanks for all the support you've been giving us lately, Thorsten.
So the program really doesn't like the apostrophe in the title of our page, and converts it to ASCII"'s"
This shows up only in the admin title, but unfortunately it also shows up on the main page: "Renee's Garden Seeds FAQ News ...

Re: Update from 2.0.15 to 2.5.5 didn't work
Yeah, it's a bit faster than it was with 2.0.15, but still slow, especially considering the level of traffic we get each month and will get on the database. I called GoDaddy and they said even though we were on a shared hosting plan, they saw no server load. Who knows if they were lying? I'll test ...

Re: Update from 2.0.15 to 2.5.5 didn't work
Ahh, I see -- actually, the text in the update file was confusing -- "choose your current version" kind of implies picking the version you already have, which for me was 2.0.15.
Maybe it'd be helpful to change it to:
"Please select the upgrade version you would like to upgrade to" (or something ...

Re: Update from 2.0.15 to 2.5.5 didn't work
When you say "choose "phpMyFAQ 2.5.3 or later" for the process, does that mean to follow the instructions that I already followed? Because as you see from the screenshot below, before I never got the option to choose the version I wanted to upgrade *to* -- I just downloaded 2.5.5 and then uploaded ...

The tables all look normal in PhpMyFAQ. There aren't any duplicates -- here's the list:

Update from 2.0.15 to 2.5.5 didn't work
I tried to update from 2.0.15 to 2.5.5 this morning and it didn't take. Everything works -- links are fine, search is fine, but the admin and the bottom of every page still says version 2.0.15. Obviously the template seems to work so that's the only thing that's changed.

Re: Upgrade from 2.0.15 to latest 2.5.0
It's not actually made clear that you need to upload 2.5.X after deleting the files from the old version. Could that be added in the documentation? Otherwise it just sounds like you delete a lot of files and then go into a directory that doesn't exist.

Fast load time in Admin pages, slow load time on user end?
I'm not sure what is causing this, but the admin pages for me are very quick (including loading questions, uploading attachments, etc), but the actual user-end -- like what a person would see when they come to the site -- is REALLY slow. GoDaddy informs me that it's nothing on their end and there's ...
