Approving / Activating user FAQs

Postby acr » Wed Jul 18, 2012 1:31 pm

I've been impressed by phpMyFAQ so far, just been using a demo to test functionality ( http://www.softaculous.com/demos/phpMyFAQ )

However, just ticking 'active' on a user created FAQ doesn't seem to activate it, it seems you need to open the entry and save it before it gets published. There doesn't appear to be anything to indicate this though, it shows in the list as active but it isn't.

Sorry if I'm being obtuse, I'm new to this software but this issue would create havok when rolled out to several admins and hundereds of FAQs coming in from different areas.

If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be most grateful.

can you explain to use how to replicate the issue you are having, I went to the website and clicked on add FAQ on the frontend then logged into the admin panel and selected article then the top and clicked on the Visible option.

I will not that there seems to be something strange with your SQL database, because while testing your issue on your site it gave me an error while phpmyfaq was trying to connect to your database
Code: Select all
The connection to the database server could not be established.

The error message of the database server:
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)

I simply visited the site without logging in, created an FAQ, logged in as admin and in the admin panel I ticked the box to mark the new FAQ as active. If I then go back to the public site it shows as having 4 FAQs but if you look in the (only) category there are only 3 available. The site is in this state at the moment but it's a sandbox site and is regularly reset to default.

If I were to open the FAQ in the admin panel and save it, it would then appear on the main site but before doing this it's in a state of limbo despite the active box still showing as ticked when checking the admin panel.
