Installing without fileinfo

I am trying ot install phpMyFAQ through Softaculous on a shared server at Lunarpages and it says the extension fileinfo isn't installed.

I checked with support and they said it's disabled and can't be enabled.

Changing the server isn't a possibility for this project... Is there a way to install phpMyFAQ without fileinfo enabled? I love the software and would love to be able to set it up.

But backup/restore then won't work.
