PDF Export Not Searchable

Post by camel_Trophy »

Greetings all and Happy New Year,

I exported the whole database and today someone reported the PDF file is not searchable, it appears it's something to do with fonts and Unicode. Any suggestions?

Also, the PDF file has my email address in the footer part of the copyright notice, can I remove that?

Thank you.

Hi,

I'll check the issue with the PDFs.

To change the footer, please check this method:

Hello Thorsten,

I think I found the issue with the PDF, it has to do with the included fonts. The only font available in the faq/assets/template/default/fonts is "glyphicons" and "fontawesome-webfont", these are not typically available on Windows machines. Once I installed the package on my machine I am able to search the exported file. Am I missing some fonts in my installation?

I will check the thread for the footers.

Thank you.

Hi,

the fonts you referring to are the icons used in phpMyFAQ. The PDF fonts are in inc/libs/tcpdf/fonts

And yes, we need unicode fonts as we have to support 40+ languages.
