Hi everyone,
i have installed phpmyfaq and was really suprised about the variaty of features offered by the program
I turned on the mod_rewrite support and that is the point i would like to propose a few things:
a)
currently the URI looks like: http://www.domain.tld/phpmyfaq/category5.html
i think i would be better if the name of the category, which is also displayed in the left menu, would be shown in the URL.
b)
if you have seleceted a single entry the URL looks like:
http://www.domain.tld/phpmyfaq/4_1_de.html
I think it might be better if instad of the numbers of the categorie again the names of the categorie and the entries would be shown there. This might also be better for the search engines
What do you think about my suggestions?
Ciao

Hi,
the first issue would be the naming of the categories and their safety regarding URL encoding. If you're thinking to improve crawling capabilities about indexing your PMF site, you're right but only if the names are strictly ASCII based otherwise you'll get many garbage chars due to %hh encoding.
That's the reason why we've choosen a neutral approach using their PMF ID.

Hi,
an improved naming of the mod_rewrite URLs including the category name and the FAQ record title is implemented in 2.0.0.
