A Question about Open Questions

I have setup an FAQ but would prefer that it did not have Open Questions where users can just say whatever they like without any prior moderation and this automatically posted for anyone online to see.

Can Open Questions be switched or turned off, or at least be moderated before going live online?

they can, you can configure that in the admin backend.
