ColSpan does not work when trying to merge cells

I am using version 2.9.13 and the merge cells feature on the HTML editor does not work properly when I save the FAQ. Here is what happens. See attachment.

Where I do it on the html editor or where I type it in the source code myself, when I save it, the colspan is removed.

The other thing I have found is the html editor is not a very good one. It is not like the powerful html editor of tinymce. Is there anyway to install or be able to use a better html editor for the software.

we do use TinyMCE in phpMyFAQ. We use the latest v4.9 version in phpMyFAQ 2.9 and 3.0.

The source code for the configuration is in the file admin/footer.php

Your bug looks like an issue in TinyMCE....

I sent a support request to TinyMCE and they replied with the following.

We have tested tinymce and have not been able replicate the issue. The coding in tinymce would not remove html coding. The html editor is WYSIWYG. If the colspan is being removed it's likely to occur due to a css replication error in your original system files or a conflict of the tinymce css with your css. Sorry we were not able to help you further.
