Installation probs with Vista and IIS7

Hello!

Some days I heard about this FAQ.
Since then I'm very eager to try it, but I can't get past the installation...

Some specs:
Vista, IIS7, MySql, PHP 5.3.1, phpMyFAQ 2.5.5
PHP seems to be up and running!

Now my problem:
If I start "http://127.0.0.1/install/installer.php" I always get this error message:
The following directory/-ies could not be created or are not writable:
/inc

This "inc" directory exists of course and in the windows explorer the file attributes are correctly set.
Did I forget something in the Inet manager of Vista?

So, if anybody could help me to solve this problem I would be very grateful!!!

Thanks + greetings from Austria
Hans

Hi, Thorsten!

Thank you for the fast answer!

That's what I don't know... :-) I also don't know how to set these properties for the IIS.
The physical path of the website is set to the phpMyFAQ directory, but I couldn't find the option to change file attributes in the Inet manager.

The interesting thing is that all the other directories which seem to be needed during the installation have the correct attributes.?

Thanks again
Hans

Hi,

I'm not a Vista User... :-)

I'll try to get a Vista VM to check this.

Update:

the installation worked now, after I messed around with the Windows Security properties!
I was rather desperate and deleted several users and their rights (which always reappeared) for this directory and many attempts later I was able to complete the installation. But I have no idea what really the problem was, because that was one of the first things I tried before contacting you...

The problem itself seems to have occured due to some company policy. Sorry for this thread!!!

Thanks for your time
Hans
