Backup/restore issue 2.7 -> 2.8

Hello

I try to restore from version 2.7 to my newly installed server running version 2.8.

I get this error:

This file is not UTF_8 encoded.This does not seem to be a backup of phpMyFAQ. (Version check failure: "-- pmf2.7" found, "-- pmf2.8" expected)

Can you help?

p.s. The account named gkroezinga can be deleted. I have no control over that email address linked to that account anymore.

Hi,

you cannot restore from a 2.7 backup into a 2.8 installation as the database layout is not the same. Please install the latest 2.7 version, restore your data and upgrade to 2.8.12
