Re: Link to Glossary Term Entry
glossary terms are always shown with their corresponding tooltip. You could link them manually with your list of glossary terms. Thorsten Thorsten - I am not sure what you mean, here. What is a "tool tip" and how does that enable me to link to a glossary entry. I have attached a screen sh...

Link to Glossary Term Entry
Is it possible to create a link to a single term in the FAQ Glossary? If so, how does one do this? Specifically, say you define the term "SMTP" in the glossary. How can you then create a hyper link so that a user can be taken directly to the Glossary entry for "SMTP" by clicking ...

FAQ Entries Not Visible Unless Re-Saved
After working normally, my phpMyFAQ installation now is refusing to show FAQs that were previously entered, unless I go to the Administrative section and "re-save" them. By "re-save" I mean I must go to the edit FAQ function and while the FAQ is on the screen click save, even tho...

Re: Consolidated Configuration Controls
Hi, you are right, that our documentation could be much much better. 1. First, to the maximum extent possible, all "option switches" and other controls should be consolidated in a master configuration file with detailed documentation and comments in the code. Most of them are in one datab...

Consolidated Configuration Controls
Although phpMyFAQ has a lot of options built into the code that can be used to change various parameters, adjust the look and feel, and so on, they are generally scattered through the code, and often accessible only by modifying the php files. Several things can be done to make it easier to access t...

Re: What Template (.tpl ) System / Tools are Used in phpMyFA
phpMyFAQ uses a self written template system in version 2.8 and 2.9. The next generation phpMyFAQ version 3.0 will use Twig. ... Thorsten To what extent does the current system work in the way the Twig system does? That is, can one use the Twig documentation as an introduction to the overall concep...

What Template (.tpl ) System / Tools are Used in phpMyFAQ?
What specific template (.tpl ) system and tools are used my the phpMyFAQ software? As someone who has not used such templates before, it appears that there are several template implementation tools available, such as Smarty, etc. Which one is used in phpMyFAQ? In order to know how to modify a theme'...

Re: Viewing User and Group Rights
Hi, the group rights overrule the user's rights. So a user cannot have any right, but if she's or he's a member of a group with permissions, she or he can access. ...... Thorsten So when I look at the user rights display and it shows that none of the rights boxes are active, the user still has what...

Viewing User and Group Rights
I am attempting to setup some group permissions and am unsure how to view what rights a specific user has after they are assigned to a group. Specifically, say a user registers and I assign that user the rights A, B, E, H, and M. Subsequently, I add that user to a group, G-3, which has the rights: A...

Firefox Cut/Paste and Spell Check Issues - Partial Solution
For those of you that are interested, I have found a partial solution to the issues with Firefox than do not allow cutting / pasting into the FAQ editor, as well as disabling the Firefox real time spell checker. Basically, what I show below is a "work-around" and is probably most useful to...

Firefox Spell Checking on Data Entry
The automatic spell checking feature in Firefox does not seem to work when writing FAQ descriptions in the new FAQ text entry form. It seems as if something that PMF's editor is doing disables Firefox's spell checker; Is there a way to fix this?

Import FAQ Data From Flat Files
Is there a way to load the FAQ data into phpMyFAQ in bulk by creating the FAQs in something like a word processor and then loading them into the system? What I am thinking is that it would be easier to do the FAQ writing in a word processor and then create a "flat," or text, file of the re...
