Re: Search for "relevant" answers

Thanks for your reply. I think for now it is probably best just to turn off the smart answers. When is version 2.9 expected to be available?

Thanks - Rowan

Search for "relevant" answers

When I add a new question to my FAQ, the system displays a list of what I suppose are meant to be possibly relevant answers. I suppose that the point of this is to give the answer immediately, if it is available, and avoid duplicate questions being added. My FAQ is pretty new, so doesn't have many ...

Re: Header bar hidea part of main pane

Thanks for your reply. I simply changed the string "ADC InterStore FAQ and Knowledge Base" to "ADC InterStore FAQ / Knowledge Base" (two characters shorter) and it works much better. I would still classify this as a bug, since there was no warning that the FAQ name was too long. In any case, why can ...

Header bar hidea part of main pane

When I log into phpMyFAQ, there is a dark blue header bar containing what I suppose you would call the Main Menu. This obscures some of the items at the tp of the menu box on the left hand side of the main pane. You cannot scroll up any more. This is faulty. I can't see what elements are in the left ...

How to I make new questions visible to users

Hi,

If a user of my FAQ system adds a question, when the same or another user logs on, and clicks the Open Questions button, the new question does not appear. What has to happen to make the question visible to all logged on users? What is the point of having questions in the system if no-one can ...

Multi Sessions

Can I have two phpMyFAQ sessions, logged on as different users, open at the same time on a single PC?

I guess this depends on what system you are using to track sessions.

This would be useful because in setting my FAQ up I need to ask questions logged on as an ordinary user, and to activate them ...

Re: Workflow for a question/FAQ

No, sorry, I didn't. You know what they say - "when all else fails...".

I will work my way through it, and no doubt find the answer.

I already found that both FAQs and Questions have to be activated by an administrator. Strangely the documentation doesn't seem to explain how an administrator ...

Re: Where is the "add a question" menu?

Thank you. It is helpful to understand this.

Is answering a question(by anyone) all that is required to convert it into a FAQ?

Or does the answer have to be approved by someone? Or does the answerer have to have built some level of credibility?

Thanks - Rowan

Re: Workflow for a question/FAQ

No, probably not. Who has to activate a FAQ? The person who created the question, the person who answered it, the administrator, or who?

I repeat my question about workflow. It would be really useful to have a description of the possible workflows for questions/answers/FAQs.

Thanks - Rowan

Re: Where is the "add a question" menu?

Thanks for your reply.

Is adding a FAQ the same thing as adding a question? How does a question turn into a FAQ? If this is the case, why does the menu sometimes say "Add a Question" rather than "Add a FAQ"?

Thanks - Rowan

Where is the "add a question" menu?

I'm a new user. I'm puzzled as to why sometimes when I log in, or after using the system for a while, I can't find the menu item to add a new question (see attachment). Where has it gone? How do I get it back?

Thanks - Rowan

Workflow for a question/FAQ

I just installed phpMyFaq, and am starting to try it out. I am puzzled thought about the stages that a question goes through. In particular, I have entered a few questions, and submitted answers for some of them, but now when I look at one of these answered questions, it displays the question but in ...
