It's the default config for my webhost... not a lot I can do about it, I'm afraid... but anything you can do to help is appreciated (the problem isn't too big of a deal for me - it's just nice to do a quick PDF backup once in a while...).

Okay... that makes sense... then the other directories should be, what? 755? What about the FAQ root (i.e. public_html/faq )... should that be 755 or 777? It seems to work with 755, but I just want to get all my ducks in a row... so to speak. Any special settings for any files I should know about ...
