I've successfully installed phpMyFAQ on both OSX systems. The resolution was the same as the Fedora Core 2 system. I had to create the database manually and then specify the ROOT MySQL user & password in order for it to create the tables (even though there is a user that has FULL rights to that ...

Hmmm.
I installed it on a Fedora Core 2 system. Had the exact same error.
1st problem noted. Installer does NOT create database. I had to create it manually. Once I did the error re: "Database doesn't exist" went away. This really should be part of the installation. :idea:

Nope.
Doesn't look like it'll work under OSX so I'll have to put together the $$$ to build a Fedora system and try it on that.
I was really looking forward to it working on the OSX system though.

Well...
... I finally got around to re-installing again. This time I used 1.4.4.
Still same error message. Same files exist as before.
I can log into MySQL because phpMyAdmin works.
I'm going to try and give it a go on another system and see if I can track down the problem.
