known issues ...
the issues that you mention are old known issues. It is better with 1.5.4 than its predecessors, but not still quite solved it seems. The best workaround I know is NOT to use the phpmyfaq Admin Panel at all when you run into those problems, but edit the database directly. You will need a client for ...

Any ideas for future back ups?
Any ideas for future back ups? You won't necessarily need to use the backup routine built-in the phpmyfaq. There are third part tool available for the various databases. Some can schedule the backup to run for instance daily and automatically - some will let you 'synchronize' databases so only new ...

OK then ...
I found it. In my Danish Windows version this folder: "C:\Documents and Settings\Peter\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\l26n3mdk.default\searchplugins" contains the pfmsearch.src file and the graphics file! I deleted the two files, reconfigured the Firefox Plugin from FAQ admin pa...

The 1.5.4 version and Firefox Search Plugin.
It is announced that version 1.5.4 includes a Firefox Search Plugin. I also found it in the admin panel, and activated it. With the words 'TEST' i n title and description. Just to see what it was. And installed it in my Firefox browser from our FAQ. Fine. eehhhhhh .... NO it ABSOLUTELY is not!!! How...

sounds fine ...
In a months time or so we will start out some Japanese, Chinese, German and Russian translations of the FAQ as our program becomes multilingual with full Unicode support in GUI elements and database management. Basically I think an article no./id should consist of two fields. First field identifes t...

that did not help me ..
you just did set permissions on ALL files in the FAQ system, didn't you? so what should be good for to set the same permissions once more on SOME files? If all files are CHMOD 755 (or 777) and the user/owner is correct it is not a privilege problem! But the name of the FAQ is in the /inc/config.php ...

oh those permissions ...
I have had a lot of problems too with that. Is it a *nix server? I suppose it is. I would simply apply the privilege changes to the /faq directory and all files and subfolders. From a good graphical FTP-client you should be able to right-click your faq folder and choose "change CHMOD (code/valu...

not completely fixed ...
From time to time I still experience that the Wysiwyg editor does not open.
This one for instance http://www.webyog.com/faq/5_7_en.html (a big one) never does.

I too have problems with the code string <p> </p> You can paste in it in "RAW HTML-mode" - ie. after clicking the "<>" icon - (and it works) but next you open it again it has become <p> </p> I think this string <p> </p> is some some sort of Frontpage speciality ...

How to safely delete a comment?
I don't see any 'delete comment' functionality in the admin panel. I don't think it would be wise just to delete the database row ? We have had a lot of trouble with people spamming our FAQ at www.webyog.com/faq . anything from childish nonsense to pornography! We have disabled the "Ask Questio...

Thorsten and I have had a similar discussion. They way sessions are stored (a text-file for each day) is not optimal for search. I would like to be able to sort with other criteria as well (ip, # of pages read etc ...) I proposed that the seesion logs were converted from being text files to become d...
