Re: phpMyFAQ install problem in XAMPP

AFAIK XAMPP is the daemon that runs the server. That's what I see in my process list. Error log is in: /opt/lampp/logs [Fri Jan 14 09:11:07 2011] [notice] suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /opt/lampp/bin/suexec) [Fri Jan 14 09:11:07 2011] [warn] RSA server certificate is a CA certificate (BasicCons...

Re: phpMyFAQ install problem in XAMPP

which functions? Sometimes visiting backup page or export page or configuration page will shutdown (crash?) the XAMPP daemon. Do you have an error log? Where do I find the error logs? Just add index.php to the Directory Index in your httpd.conf I found httpd.conf in XAMPP but it seems illogical tha...

phpMyFAQ install problem in XAMPP

Hi Thorsten, I'm using XAMPP 1.7.3a & phpMyFAQ 2.5.4 & Puppy Linux 4.3.1 Problem 1: I can login the admin but some functions crash the XAMPP daemon. Problem 2: The link to front-end at top of admin is incorrect: http://localhost/phpmyfaq-2.5.4/ It should be: http://localhost/phpmyfaq-2.5.4/i...

Re: Will memory_limit = 24M cause problems?

Based on what you say Thorsten I assume that what I observed below is caused by a PHP memory_limit = 24M at byethost. Since this is free hosting I can’t complain. I can live with these limitations. These actions in Exports of phpMyFAQ admin do not work: Generate PDF file Make Docbook file These acti...

Re: How to ban IP addresses?

Uploaded: https://github.com/thorsten/phpMyFAQ/commit/0e3f835d04a085c8e448d7ba34f016d57d4f1fb7 I entered IP to ban in “Ban these IP” in main configuration. Then I visited my site with second PC whose IP I banned. But second PC is still able to visit the site. Note 1: After uploading modified Session...

Re: How to ban IP addresses?

I never saw a download link for https://github.com/thorsten/phpMyFAQ/blob/2.5/phpmyfaq/inc/Session.php so I copied and pasted the text into a text editor and saved it that way. Then I uploaded Session.php To test I used two PC. Each PC had it’s own Internet connection and IP address. I used one to e...

Re: How to ban IP addresses?

Thanks, I'll try it after I eat my lunch.

This isn't mission critical so don't feel like you have to wait around here.

Re: How to ban IP addresses?

ah, okay... you can use the function function userTracking() from above in your 2.5.4 based version. I checked the code base. I don't have a clue about what you just said. I used the search in my browser to find userTracking but that didn't enlighten me. If you are suggesting that I modify that fil...

Re: How to ban IP addresses?

I assume I should copy the contents of the code and save as “Session.php” in the “inc” directory.

That is very impress Thorsten. I will give it a try and let you know how it works. :)

Re: How to ban IP addresses?

The IP ban is currently only used for preventing an IP to add content. Useful but not what I wanted. I could add the IP ban to the session tracking, too. Would you suggest it? Most definitely. If you want to know why I want to ban that IP then do a Scroogle search for it (I don’t use Go0gle, it’s e...

How to ban IP addresses?

Question 1: I would like to ban this IP address: 91.201.66.73 I have added this IP to the field in main configuration but the IP still appears in session list even after deleting all sessions. Question 2: What if anything should I place between each IP in that field in main configuration? Should I p...

Re: Recreate site with just database file? [SOLVED]

@Thorsten
I hope you will accept my apology. I blamed you for something that’s not your fault.

I suspect I may know who added the prefix to those tables during the install at the original site. I guess I will be forever stuck with it.

Re: Recreate site with just database file? [SOLUTION]

I fixed the problem (before I read your last post). Here’s the procedure: Using phpMyFAQ 2.5.4 at source site create a database backup and save it to hard drive. In a text editor open database backup made in step 1 and note the table prefix. Install phpMyFAQ 2.5.4 at destination host. During install...
