[ Doubt ] Revision number - manual change and value range

Dear Thorsten Rinne / Development Team / All

Recently, we've installed a fresh phpMyFAQ 2.8.2's driven FAQ service (including the DBs).

The site's "power users" want to distinguish stable from unstable FAQ's versions by changing the major revision number (e.g., 1.x to 2.0).
So,
  • is it possible - for a standard or administrator user - to manually change the revision number?
  • if the answer is positive, how?
  • what's the "minor" number's limit before an automatic "major" number's change (e.g., 1.y to 2.0)?
.
Tanking in advance.
..
Kind regards

Hi,

currently it's not possible to change the "major" number, the second number is just an incremental integer value. This was inspired by the old CVS revisions a lot of years ago...

Thank for your answer.

Are you planning to implement this feature?

Even if the current scheme is maintained, it would be useful to associate a logical field (/form) to the FAQ's revision:
thus, the user could select that field to mark the revision as a major version.
