HTML <p>&nbsp;</p> disappear

I often use the HTML code

[/b] to insert a blank line. With the FAQ at http://www.webyog.com/faq/ I have done that quite a lot of places.

For instance I'd like to start and end each posting with that HTML-code because I think the distance from the template to my own text is too short.

I can paste it into the HTML and save and it works. However next time i open that posting in HTML-view it gets distorted.

There may be otherways to get it as I want. This code is what Frontpage2000 insert when you make an extra blank line. And I have been using that program for years.

Any proposal for another and better way to do it with phpmyfaq ?
