update to 1.5.3 went wrong

Post by jazcyk »

After the update to 1.53 no links on the startpage are functional any more.
But the udate script ran without errors

So I went back to 1.52 that is available from http://www.webyog.com/faq/
(it displays 1.5.3, but it is not!)

The unsuccesfull attempt is available from http://www.webyog.com/faq153/
the link can't be resolved and the page request is routed to the webroot

Questions:
1) What happened - any idea? and what can I do?
2) I guess that the database was updated by the update script. Is it safe to run 1.5.2 with the new database format until this porblem is solved?
3) I see that the index.tpl has grown this time. That must mean that the old index.tpl just can't be copied ?

i am sorry!

I forgot to copy the .htaccess!
Everything should be OK now!

But still: could you explain if anything changed with the index.tpl ?

Hi,

we do not change anything in the database during the 1.5.x releases.

Then I should apply the "mods" to the new file!

BTW: The start page of phpmyfaq has an error. It reads
2005-09-19
The phpMyFAQ team is pleased to announce the release of phpMyFAQ 1.5.3. This release adds several security enhancements and a Greek translation. The RSS feeds and the backup/restore frontend were improved. The Indonasian translation and the bundled Net_IDNA class were updated. We also fixed a lot of minor bugs.
Obviously you copied an old post and forgot to change the date! :!:
