Allow users to view PDF attachments without logging in

Post by mmcgrath »

Hello.

I am running version 2.9.2 and in order for a user to view an attachment (i.e., a PDF), the software requires them to login. Is there anyway around this, so visitors could view the attachment?

Thanks!

Hi,

sure, there's an option for that in the admin configuration.

Thanks Thorsten.

Could you tell me the name of the option I should be looking for?

Thanks!

Hi,

it's "Allow downloads for guests" in the FAQ tab.

Excellent. Thank you! It seems to be working now.

As a follow-up question to this -- do attachments (such as PDFs) have their full text indexed? Or is it only the content of the actual FAQ that gets indexed for search?

Hi,

only the text in the FAQs are indexed, not in attachments.
