visitor count ...

Post by jazcyk »

Is it possible to create a 'real visitor count'? That means one that does not include robots but only counts 'real human visitors'.

That would take an addition column in faqvisits table and an 'exclude list' of ip's. I know it will never be accurate but for instance I think that most ip's starting with 65 66 and 67 mostly are robots.

another way ..

another way to implement this could be not to count those vistors as 'real visitors' that that do not trigger a transfer of HTML from the server. I noticed that a lot of visitors (according to 'view sessions' in Admin Panel) did not open a single page.

Possible?

Hi,

we could add the IÜ ban methods to the view log, too.

I think the visitor log is just a "small" goodie, if you want really a good statistic about your visitors you need a software like AWStats or something like that.

AWSTATS ...

Post by jazcyk »

last time phpbb2 website was defaced it was because of a bug in AWSTATS ... :(

It is basically a COUNT that I need. For instance i published an article on databasejournal.com on one of the features in SQLyog sometime ago. I would simply like to see if the no. of visitors increased following that. Also when product has been reviewed in a computer magazine a such.

Now I have up to 800 a day, but sometimes it is Google 500 of them ...

it has to be useful and at the same time 'fit in' the code concept.
