[ Bug ][ 2.8.0 ] Glossary link problem – page not found
..
Dear Thorsten Rinne / Development Team

Our phpMyFAQ version was upgraded from 2.7.9 to 2.8.0 [ the 2.8.0 default theme is really interesting ].

1.
However, the glossary link at the end of the page doesn't work:
it points to the missing glossary.html file - but only glossary.php exist
[ please see the attached screen shots ].

We made some experiences without success.

Note
The reference/access to a glossary is very important in many cases - so why is it at the phpMyFAQ's pages end?
(we know that it is possible to change the layout).

2.
Writing plain HTML code to an original 2.8.0 template[1] doesn't appear. Could this situation be related to the previous one?

Kind regards

The upgrade was also applied to
faqs.up.pt

but there was an error at the final installation step – however, the service/layout seems to be working without problems.

Hi,

Do you use the new config file from the 2.8 package?
The reference/access to a glossary is very important in many cases - so why is it at the phpMyFAQ's pages end?
(we know that it is possible to change the layout).

It's just the list of the terms, the interactive glossary feature from former version still exists.
Writing plain HTML code to an original 2.8.0 template[1] doesn't appear. Could this situation be related to the previous one?
Should work, we didn't change anything in the template file behaviour.
The upgrade was also applied to
faqs.up.pt
Pretty cool! :-)
but there was an error at the final installation step – however, the service/layout seems to be working without problems..
Which error occured?

Dear Thorsten Rinne

Thank for your quick answer - our (partial) feedback was only possible today.

but there was an error at the final installation step – however, the service/layout seems to be working without problems..
Which error occured?
The attached (edited) image

error-upgrade-step-3-v-279-to-280-phpmyfaq-screenshot-20130523.png

contains the error message - "...Duplicate entry (...) for key PRIMARY..."

We followed the instruction and repeated the update process.

We don't have access to the logs (BD, etc).

The response to other comments will be posted tomorrow (we hope).

Meanwhile
[ Thorsten Rinne ]

The upgrade was also applied to
faqs.up.pt

Pretty cool!

We just applied the default template – the credit for it's “good looking” (etc) is yours...

Our apologies: we received your e-mail - it was in the middle of a long (long) list of messages (we are in a profound reorganization process).

The system seems to be working - we'll wait to see what happens during the site update with phpMyFAQ's next version.

[2.8.1] Update 2.8.0 to 2.8.1 - the same error message is displayed

We got the same error message while upgrading UP-FAQ's [ faqs.up.pt ]
phpMyFAQ version 2.8.0 to 2.8.1.

Has before (2.7.9 to 2.8.0), there was no error during UP-Soft's [ upsoft.up.pt ] phpMyFAQ upgrade.

In UP-FAQ, the upgrade script identifies the process as a 2.7.9 to 2.8.1 change.

Is it possible to change the recorded "2.7.9" version number to "2.8.1" in order to see what happens on the next upgrade (i.e., to 2.8.2)?

Hi,

you can change the version number to "2.8.1" by hand in the table faqconfig.

Thank.

Last Friday, we made the change in the table and we will post the behavior of the upgrade from version 2.8.1 to 2.8.2 (when available) - also that of the Glossary link.

Yes (with a different layout).

At phpMyFAQ's top folder
  • glossary.html - doesn't exist
but
  • glossary.php - exists
If we have the time, this week we'll upgrade phpMyFAQ to version 2.8.2.

Yes Thorsten, I agree with the previous post. Error 404, there is a glossary.php but no glossary.html in 2.8.2
