[ v.2.9.9 ] visible em tags on login form fiels - administration page
..
Dear all

HTML5 allows the use of some tags ("em",...) on buttons and form fields.

However, in our situation - phpMyFAQ v.2.9.9 - they are visible on the administration page login form fields.

Attached edited screenshot (Portuguese layout):

Hi,

looks like you added these tags in the language file? Which one are you using?

Dear Thorsten Rinne

Thank for your feedback and sorry for this late answer.
1.
We no longer have direct access to the language translation file.
Last time we've performed (and sent) a translation was with the 2.8.x's series administration interface.
So, assuming that the file wasn't changed by any of our Colleagues, the "em" tags where already in that series file.

2.
We have another problem that may (or not) be related with that situation:
After saving the changes made in the two last pages of the untranslated strings 2.9.9 portuguese version file - using the dedicated interface -, the result is a blank page on both interfaces: administration and standard user access to the FAQ's site.
At this point we are inserting new records - a priority task -, so we could'n perform detailed tests to identify the cause of that behaviour: our Colleagues must reinstall the Portuguese language backup file after the blank page issue.

Kind regards,

Hi,

yes, the translation file interface is buggy and has a lot of issues. We dropped the user interface for translations in 3.0 because of that.

Is it possible to get your translation file to check it?

Dear Thorsten Rinne

Thank for your answer.

1.
We'll ask our Colleagues for a copy of the active portuguese translation file.

2.
On previous phpMyFAQ versions/series we don't remember having this kind of frequent(?) problems with the translation interface.
2.1
What method is used in the 3.x series translation process? - we hope that it doesn't require a registry on an dedicated on-line translation service.
  • A Github tool?
  • "PO" files?
In the last case will phpMyFAQ 3.x distributions include an independent helper program? - or the user must select a program of his/her choice?

Two open source examples for "PO" files (that use different approachs to the translation process) - please notice that we are
only making a reference, not a recommendation or an endorsement.
Kind regards,
