phpMyFAQ portable version - for GNU/Linux , MacOS and MS Windows
..
Dear Development Team

Using phpMyFAQ in a "standard" user's personal computer may be an "overkill" use - even with "light" versions of its components (SQLite,...)

However, there are situations where a standalone portable version[1] could be useful. Examples:
  • making a proposal for phpMyFAQ adoption in an organization -preparing a demo,...
  • show the phpMyFAQ behavior and features to an hosting service / IT administrator before installation,
  • testing new phpMyFAQ versions before updating the current one -without the need of an hosting service,
  • testing new / updated translations -there are repeated (equal) sentences in the English file that must have different translations in other languages, depending on the context
  • creating FAQ records offline,
  • phpMyfaq personal use -not a frequent situation
Are you planning to produce portable editions? - or implement a simple structure for those who want to make one?

[1] There are different solutions for GNU/Linux , MacOS , MS Windows and other OS
..
Kind regards

Hi,

that's a nice idea but I think it would only work with a stripped down version and we need a different backend. It would be a complete rewrite...
