Configuring Email

I'm trying to configure phpMyFAQs email functionality to use my mail system. Below is what I have, but I'm not getting any emails when I create a new question. I also do not understand what is expected in the SMTP Server Encryption field

server address: mail.contoso.net
username: administrator
password: monkey
SMTP server port: 25
SMTP server encryption: <blank>

Also, is there anywhere that details when and to whom emails will be sent?

Hi,

the mails will be sent to the mail address defined in the admin backend. If this user is on the allowed list in your mail server, it will work. The server encryption is "SSL" if you use port 465 instead of port 25.

if you use an encrypted connection to your SMTP server over port 465, it's "ssl".
