It would be great to have more control in show.tpl. I would like to move the numbers of views to the same line at the title of the questions, and to do so I have to edit Faq.php. When phpmyfaq updates I will lose my change, right?

yes... currently! We're working on a big update on the Faq.php file and it will be possible for more und better configuration in the next big release.
