The 1.5.4 version and Firefox Search Plugin.

Post by jazcyk »

It is announced that version 1.5.4 includes a Firefox Search Plugin.

I also found it in the admin panel, and activated it. With the words 'TEST' i n title and description. Just to see what it was. And installed it in my Firefox browser from our FAQ. Fine. eehhhhhh .... NO it ABSOLUTELY is not!!!

How do I get rid of it ?? In the FAQ as such and in the browser as well. Users will ask us the last question! And I would like to be able to answer them! If I can't I'll loose customers. People become mad if you change their system an irreversible way.

Also there should be an "uninstall Firefox plugin" as well in the Admin panel. Or at least it should be DOCUMENTED how to remove it from the FAQ. And I would like to do that NOW. And it will only be activated again when I have written a FAQ article about what users should do if they don't want it anymore!

OK then ...

I found it. In my Danish Windows version this folder:

"C:\Documents and Settings\Peter\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\l26n3mdk.default\searchplugins"

contains the pfmsearch.src file and the graphics file! I deleted the two files, reconfigured the Firefox Plugin from FAQ admin panel and loaded the plugin in the browser again. Now it says 'Webyog FAQ' and that is better!

Now even we could put our own graphics file in!

Hi,

can I test the plugin installed at your FAQ?

You can remove it when you delete the file pmfsearch.src in the root folder of your FAQ.

An uninstall option is a good idea!
