changing install location & deleting main categories

I am using phpMyFAQ 2.0.1.

If I installed & running to phpmyfaq folder and I want to rename that folder to just faq. What changes do I have to make to not break anything?
(i.e. Can I just rename the folder and everything works? Rename folder and change a few settings? Not recommended?)

Also, I have a main category and 2 sub-categories. I wish to delete the main category and make the 2 sub-categories as main categories. I cannot find a way to do this.

renaming should be enough, maybe you have to edit the path for the linkverifier in the configuration.

You can move them to the highest level.

That is the part I am missing. I am in the admin, under the categories tab. When I click on the arrows (to move) it only allows me to move categories within the same level. (Basically reorder them.) It states "The exchange of 2 categories is only possible at the same level." I can't find where I could move the category up or down a level.

create a new, empty main category and change it with the second level one.

I just can't seem to make this work. I created a blank category. I can move the topics up under the blank category. But now I have a blank category with sub-categories. Sigh, it seems I stuck with categories as they are until better category organization is added or I manually go through and create new Categories and move every entry to the new category.

I have discovered a really bad behaviour with this software:
If you delete a main level category that still has a subcategory with items in it, it trashes your whole database and you better have a backup on hand to restore things to.

could you file a bug on http://bugs.phpmyfaq.de for this specific bad issue?
The normal behaviour should be: no deletion, just orphan sub-categories. We need to look at it.

I have a structure of the form:
Main Category:
Sub-Category1
nested sub-categories
Sub-Category2
nested sub-categories

I want to make both Sub-Categories into Main Categories.

I have tried to do this by creating a new Main Category and moving one set of nested sub-categories into the new Main Category. However this does not work.

Can you advise please.
