Installing PhpMyFAQ in Wordpress site
Hi,
I run my website with Wordpress as my content management system. I wish to install PhpMyFAQ.
- Can I install PhpMyFAQ in the same database and place code files in the same Apache where my wordpress runs? Have you ever tried this and is there any clash?
- Is there any way i can integrate the admin panels of both?
Any pointers on running PhpMyFAQ in Wordpress is welcome.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Installing PhpMyFAQ in Wordpress site
Well i hope I can answer some of your questions..... The Lead Developer Thorsten could possibly give you a little more insite on this..... But as of right now their is no way to incorporate wordpress with phpmyfaq.... i also use wordpress and they are 2 totally different systems..... As far as I am aware of it has not been tested to weather or not they will clash, but the only thing that i am aware of that is compatible with wordpress is bbPress

Hi,
you can install both in the same database but currently there's no integration of the admin section at all.

Re: Installing PhpMyFAQ in Wordpress site
Thorsten,
Do you have any tips on installing or moving phpMyFAQ to wordpress?
I understand that the admin will not integrate with wordpress, but I would like more info on moving phpMyFAQ to the wordpress directory and what may need to be done in regards to the database.
Thank-you!

Re: Installing PhpMyFAQ in Wordpress site
phpMyFAQ is already installed on the site in another directory and we are wanting to move it into the wordpress directory.
We are trying to integrate it as much as possible with wordpress since that is what will be used for the CMS on the site.

Re: Installing PhpMyFAQ in Wordpress site
All you should have to do is transfer your files to the wordpress directory then go to wordpressblog.com/faq/install/update.php or mysite,com/wordpress/faq/install/update.php depending on if your wordress is in a sub directory of your site and this should update your sql database allowing it too work within the wordpress installation....
I hope this is what you were trying to accomplish, if it wasnt just let us know, i wasnt sure if you wanted a phpmyfaq folder or if you were trying to do it witout creating a sub directory within wordpress.
Cheers,
Jason

Having the phpMyFAQ in a subdirectory under wordpress would be fine.
One of the other questions is about implementing the wordpress template in phpMyFAQ????

Hi,
you can use the HTML code from the Wordpress templates in the phpMyFAQ templates. I think it should be a little bit of work but it should be possible.

Thorsten,
Can you please elaborate on what you mean by "you can use the HTML code from the Wordpress templates..."?
Does this mean that wordpress php code can be used in the phpMyFAQ pages or just the rendered HTML?
