What does the star and lock mean in Categories

I have noticed that in the FAQ Categories of the Content Menu, some of my Categories show a lock button and a star button. What do these mean. I cannot find any support documentation to help understand what this feature is and what they do or mean?

Hi,

the star indicates that's a category listed on the start page, the lock indicates the category has permissions.
