SMTP Unable to Relay, and other errors

Post by mythicwave »

Hi,

I'm getting a message: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for webmaster@example.com

Can I tell the sendmail function to login with a user name and password to send mail?

I'm using IIS 6 SMTP. I've added my computer's IP address to the "allow to relay" list but it still doesn't work.

I'm also getting errors when I try to update my configuration settings:

Warning: fputs(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\PHPStuff\phpmyfaq\admin\config.save.php on line 26

I suspect I'm missing a PHP extension.

Thanks,

Brian

I'm using version 1.4.10 of phpMyFAQ, version 4.1.13 of mysql, and version 5.04 of PHP.

I just tried your latest beta of phpMyFAQ 1.5 and the errors went away except for the following lines at the top of each page:

Notice: Undefined offset: 0 in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\FAQ\beta\inc\category.php on line 203

Warning: array_keys() [function.array-keys]: The first argument should be an array in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\FAQ\beta\inc\category.php on line 203

Thanks,

Brian

I inserted a category and the problem went away - thanks.

Something else came up: When I typed the word "FAQ's" for a category name, the name showed as "FAQ\'s". But then I editted it and kept the same "FAQ's" and the problem went away.

Also, is it possible to use a user name and password to designate a different mail server than the one specified in php.ini?

Thanks,

Brian

Hi,

okay, I'll look at these issues.

I don't know where you can change the username and password beside php.ini. Sorry.
