Hi.
Just made that... I put installer.php to CHMOD 444 and 555 but the error keeps running!
Can I give you the FTP login to you to see?

Would the script still have a problem since the dir would not be writeable?
I'm still hung up on the 777 dir not being writeable

Hi,
when you have to disable usertracking, you cannot add images and attachments and you cannot generate pdfs or xml files.

I am having the exact same problems. I have created a directory "phpmyfaq". Using ftp I have set permissions to 777. I have also set permissions of the subdirectory INC to 777. I get the same error message re: "The directory ../inc is not writeable."

Can anyone help resolve this problem or should I give up on this product.

Got to making ../inc writeable but got an error:

Hello.
I solved my problem (the same here) as giving permissions 7777 and not 777.
This was perfect then...
