Dear Members of the Board,
I know that an entry can be made available only to certain users, or groups of users and I have successfully implemented this functionality.
I want to make an entry with a link to any file (.jpg, .pdf, .pptx). I want BOTH the entry and the file to be restricted to view to only those users/group I select.
Currently, I can make an entry restricted and I can insert a regular html link to any file I want, anywhere on the web (I am currently making another folder under the phpmyfaq installation folder where I upload all the files using FTP). The entry works as expected: It is only accessible to the users/groups when they are logged in. However, the files I am linking to in these restricted articles are free to view to anyone. I can use any machine in my office, paste the html link in the web browser and view/download all the files (.jpg, .pdf, .pptx).
Is there a way to upload and protect files like .jpg, .pdf, and .pptx?
