makeDate() doesn't exist

Fresh download and install of phpmyfaq-2.6.5. Attempted to create first FAQ. Failed.
Http error_log shows php call to makeDate() failed, function not found.

Found this http://github.com/weltling/phpMyFAQ/com ... c4d7f20599
which shows fix in October 2009 replacing calls to makeDate(). Was this fix not in time for 2.6.5?
