need help with install please

Hello, i need some help with the install.
I verified all the requirements with th host, uploaded all the files, changed attributes on all files and folders to 766
when i point my browser to the installer file, i just get the home page of the website.

What could be wrong?

Changed CHMOD to 777. Now I get an HTTP 500 error when attempting to run the install script.

Can you please let me know what else could be wrong?

Hi,

which PHP version do you use. Do you see anything in your web server logs?

Sent you a PM with link to my info.php

Took a look at server logs. DId not know what i was looking for, but finally figured it out.

I had changed every file and folder to 777, which the server did not like. Then step by step i had to change the permissions for installer.php, install folder and faq folder to 755. All of these were posted on the error log.
Now i can see the install script.

I'll keep you posted on my progress.

It worked. It was the permissions for the directories.
Now I'm in the admin area.
