Hi,

2.5.0-dev is in heavy development and maybe broken. If you're not a developer, please use the stable version 2.0.5.

I use stable version and problem is true.

Install 1.6.x > OK
Install any 2.x > Problem login of admin (user or password is not correct).

2.0.6 problem login! =-/

He's error in the installation of access to the database. In the second attempt, he enters the menu "of script update."

When this will be resolved in time?

No admin access

Post by kdallmer » Sun May 11, 2008 2:16 am

I just looked at my mysql database and found that there are no tables, I did not receive any errors.

I installed v2.0.6 and when it started it said I had a previous version installed and said it backed up my database and then a teh end, said it had to do nothing and deleted the two install files.. program poped right up and looked good, went into the admin and said that the user name or password was invilid, so I asked to be emailed my password and it said admin did not exist.

So I looked at the data base and found no tables.. is there a script I can use to load the tables?

Hi,

the install script creates the SQL tables and set the first configuration. If you run the installer, it first checks, if you have a data.php file in your inc/ directory. If it founds this file, something is wrong because this file only exists on installed phpMyFAQs. Please delete the data.php if you never installed phpMyFAQ and run the install script. Then everything should work.

Thorsten and all.
Thank you again for being patient, I am out of my water here.
1. I extracted the files on my computer:
2. Confirmed I met minimum specifications
3. Uploaded the files to the server
4. I am installing the script in a sub domain off my main domain (faq.mosiopa.net) so I use
a. Faq.mosiopa.net/install/installer.php
5. The script starts to run then come back and tells me it cat finish because :
the file data.php in the directory inc/
the directory attachments/
the directory data/
the directory images/
the directory pdf/
the directory xml/

Can’t be created or don’t have the proper permissions.. so I created the directories and change them to 777
( for the install) 755 does not seem to work. I get a blank screen an nothing happens .
6. I run the script again after changing to 777 and I get the screen asking for the database and user details..
7. I hit continue after loading the proper info and it comes back and tells me that it look as if I have a previous version and starts putting me through the upgrade screen.
8. Once the install gets past that , it tells me that it backed up my database and then asks me for te version I have and tell it 2.0.2 or greater and then it comes back and tell me that does not need to do anything and finishes..
9. I go to the main page and it is there, I go to the admin page and it’s there, I log in and tell me
(admin) or password is not valid and I ask it to send me the password via email and tell me the account does not exist.
I have no idea what is going wrong… I am going to delete everything. And start anew I will document what steps I take..
:x

Starting out with a clean directory, I uploaded the files for my document root. /faq
I did create
the directory “attachments/” ,
the directory “data/”,
the directory “images/”,
the directory “pdf/”,
the directory “xml/”,

and upgraded the permissions to 777 because in past attempts even with /faq at 777 these directories did not create.

I gave “/faq” 777 permissions and to the directories mentions above.
I verified my database name, and user name, server is LOCALHOST..
Verified the “/inc” directory does not have a DATA.PHP file
Went to /install/installer.php and go this…. I forgot to upgrade the data directory ..

phpMyFAQ 2.0.6 Installation
The following directory/-ies could not be created or are not writable:
• /data

Please create it manually and/or change access to chmod 755 (or greater if necessary).I upgraded the permissions reran the script

This time I got the configuration screen and entered my host, date base user info as well as the admin info
I get this error now..

The connection to the database server could not be established.
The error message of the database server:
But no error messages are displayed.. I suspect that this is where the table creation is failing..

My head is starting to hurt now…
