Firefox plugin contains double-slashes which breaks my FAQ.

Hi there,

I have stumbled upon a small problem.

If I create a Firefox search plugin, I get a file like this: -

This upsets my FAQ, for anyone who uses the plugin.

First time use works, but then any subsequent menu-click fails, as the menu-items are all domainless, ie., http://index.php/?action=show

I have not found a way of generating thie plugin automagically, without the double slashes.

If I alter the .src file in the DocumentRoot, this has no effect on the plugin that gets installed, but if I manually remove the additional slashes in the installed firefox plugin (~/.mozilla/firefox/blah.default.someting.src), the plugin works as desired & doesn't screw up the FAQ site itself.

I'm using the latest FreeBSD port (phpmyfaq.1.5.8.full.zip)

This is a correct behaviour: for updating also the clients you must manually delete the plugin by your own going to the local path you've quoted.

Sorry, I do not understand exactly where you've removed the double slashes: could you post your local working src file? I would check it against the spec (Sherlock standard and Mycroft extension) for trying to fix the issue according to what the spec tell.
Could you also post your Firefox version and Linux flavour?

As for firefox version, the one on the machine above, is: -

After installing the obviously broken plugin, I found its location on disk (on my FreeBSD workstation: ~/.mozilla/firefox/some.default/serachplugins/my.domain.com.pmfsearch.src & on my Mac: /Users/chrisp/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/rafhar4d.default/searchplugins/my.domain.com.pmfsearch.src) & altered it so it looks like this: -

I closeed & reopened firefox & the plugin works perfectly.

Essentially, the only difference between the file that gets installed & the file that works, is that there are no double-slashes in the URLs of the working one. The broken plugin is contained in my first post.

I'm sorry I miss to write that I was referring to the client but as written by you the client was a Mac so again I could write *nix flavour

You'll find the fix (double slashes on FF src plugin file when using PMF under "pure" virtual host) in the next nighlty built snapshot for PMF 1.6.x (see Daily CVS Snapshots) and in the next public release of PMF 1.5.x (1.5.10).
