Hi,
change the directory data/ to the same user as your webserver runs.

I'm confused
by your answer, you mean to move the directory or to rename it?

Hi,
no, the directory has to be owned by the user under which is your webserver running.

Hi there,
Forgive me for asking, but I'm new at php. I am receiving the same warnings using 1.3.8
Code: Select all
Warning: flock(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/xtremewa/public_html/faq/inc/functions.php on line 106
Warning: flock(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/xtremewa/public_html/faq/inc/functions.php on line 106
How do I make the directory 'owned' by the user??? Could you provide an example to us newbies. Sorry to trouble you!
Thanx!

Hi,
okay, that's great.
1. Login and go to the directory where your FAQ is located.
2. Then write this:
Code: Select all
chown -R <username of your webserver>:<group name of your webserver> data/
chown -R <username of your webserver>:<group name of your webserver> xml/
chown -R <username of your webserver>:<group name of your webserver> pdf/
chown -R <username of your webserver>:<group name of your webserver> config/
On a Debian system, the username of the webserver is "www-server" and the group is "www-server", too.
bye

Hi there,
Where abouts to I write that because I only get a list of folders and nothing to write anything with. I think I just need to get the Data folder with access permissions, but it won't let me change the chmod to 744.
Code: Select all
Warning: fopen(./data/tracking23112003): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/xtremewa/public_html/faq/inc/functions.php on line 104
I think I forgot to mention that in my last post. Everything else works, the admin side of it etc.
-baffled- lol

I can if I'm using WS_FTP, but I can't if I'm doing my site web-based. Tis very odd, it wouldn't let me CHMOD in WS_FTP either...?

I'm looking for an solution for your problem. A quick fix could be disabling user tracking in the configuration.
