A few suggestions

Post by ronan »

I just installed phpMyFaq and it looks like the tool I've been searching for. Thanks to the development team.

Anyway, here are a few suggestions :
  • the article PDF conversion should (optionally ?) include a nice header so that the generated PDF look alike the site
  • the full FAQ PDF conversion should (optionally ?) display articles group by category. Follow this link to see what I mean. I have some more work on the PDF to improve the lookout, but I could provide the code if you want. This document should also (optionally ?) include a nice header.
  • Allow the user to submit new articles, submit new questions, answer open questions should be optional. Especially if the FAQ is not community oriented (which happens).
  • I am not plainly satisfied with the french translation which is not very consistent (it sometime uses different word for the same thing). I will propose a (IMHO) improved translation
  • internationalize the items in the URL. It's not very important, but it's better for the user (when not german speakers, of course)
  • internationalize code (variable, function, comments): it's better for developper wanting to hack the code
Regards,

Ronan

thanks a lot.

This is a long time on our ToDo list. I want to implement this in the near future.

This should be possible with phpMyFAQ 2.0 which will be a complete rewrite.

I don't speak French but it would great if you can improve the language file!

You're right. I'll internationalize the code since a while but there are still many german words inside the FAQ. :?
