Relevant URLs
I recently installed phpMyFAQ and I was wondering if there is a mod or a way to make the URLs for everything relevant to the category?
I basically want the urls to read the category title.
Any ideas?

Re: Relevant URLs
Would you be able to tell me where to get to that option?
Re: Relevant URLs
Since I have asked so many questions, I thought I would contribute.
It is under Configuration in the admin panel (Main configuration). You need to tick the box and save settings.
You will also need to make sure your .htaccess file is correct and includes the correct base url. It is PHPMYFAQ as default, and this will obviously not work...

Re: Relevant URLs
Thank you. That worked.
But...
How do I go about linking my categories up with their correct url? All of my categories go to a 404 now.
Is there a refresh somewhere?
Or do I have to re-do everything?

Re: Relevant URLs
Here's what's in my htaccess file:
I changed out my actual host name in the words below.
RewriteBase /
<IfModule mod_suphp.c>
suPHP_ConfigPath /home/"myhosting"/public_html/cheatcodes/php.ini
<Files php.ini>
order allow,deny
deny from all
</Files>
</IfModule>
___
Here's the the site link: I have another website installed on the primary directory that will be linking to this one.
http://cdeezgames.com/cheatcodes/
I was messing with it all last night and I can't figure it out. It is probably something I'm not putting correctly in the htaccess file.

Re: Relevant URLs
Does anybody know if there is a way to correct my existing URLs or if I should start over because it won't be possible?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Relevant URLs
You should see this is your code
it should be changed or added to this
make sure to look in the .htaccess file within the phpmyfaq folder and not the root directory, and at the end of RewriteBase /change this to the folder name were phpmyfaq is installed for example if your folder is called faq it should look like this RewriteBase /faq/
im not sure were the code came from that you posted what your .htaccess file looks like but thats not it the code you need to change will be on line 29
Code: Select all
RewriteBase /phpmyfaq/it should be changed or added to this

Re: Relevant URLs
So this is what should be at the top of my .htaccess file..?
RewriteBase /cheatcodes/
The folder the FAQ is in is called "cheatcodes"
The link works fine up to this point:
http://cdeezgames.com/cheatcodes/
After I click on anything else, it gets a 404 error.
I just saw what you were talking about on line 29. It was in the "_.htaccess" file.
I still get 404 errors. Do I need to just re-do everything now?

Re: Relevant URLs
In order to get the file called _.htaccess to work properly you must remove the underscore that is in front of the file so it looks like this .htaccess then edit line 29 and it should work
