Record Creation problem PLEASE help!

Post by cyborg »

Hi,

I am using version 1.3.2, and I have installed it and I am able to get to the admin screen. I can create News, and categories, but when I create a new record, it gets created, but when I go to the FAQ I DO NOT see the record?????? I also chose "yes" for active when I create, so ALL users can see...

When I click on the category, then the Record, I get: No Categories found! and the FAQ I created under the record, does NOT show up?

when I click "printer-friendly version" I get: Wrong ID!

It is as if the program is NOT reading the tables from mySQl server, but I know the data is there, because I can see it, and I can also export it.

Why can I NOT see the FAQ??

PLEASE HELP, I have tried everything, and I can NOT see the FAQ records.

Thank you VERY much!

I have the same problem as discussed in this thread

Post by maui1 »

I have just installed phpMyFAQ and have the same problem. I can create the record, preview it and make it active and it shows up in the database, but it cannont be viewed when the category is selected on the main page.

The category shows there are entries and it show the titles but when you click on the titles, nothing comes up, and like above, when you click on print button it opens to a page that says "wrong ID"

I too reinstalled it twice, to be sure it was not something I messed up in the installation, but same problem.

I can create news and it does show up on the main page, but FAQ records do not.

Sure hope you have found the answer to this problem since these last entries.

Thanks for such a really nice FAQ script, very comprehensive and well thought out.

Did anyone find an answer?

I'm having this exact same issue after re-installing my server. I'm sure it must have something to do with a configuration issue, but wondered if anyone had found the fix.

I also cannot create new entries, or see the entries that I already had created and restored into my database.

When clicking on printer friendly, it says Wrong ID.

Here's the url

http://matrixcompsys.com/phpmyfaq

phpinfo
http://matrixcompsys.com/phpinfo.php

And I just figured out something. The original hostname of my system was matrixcompsys.pointclark.net. I re-installed my server and changed the hostname to matrixcompsys.com. If I go to the url http://matrixcompsys.pointclark.net/phpmyfaq it will show the data for the articles, but if I use http://matrixcompsys.com/phpmyfaq it will not. Keep in mind that either one of these addresses will take you to the same physical directory on my server, and using the exact same mysql database. I couldn't find any configuration in phpmyfaq to change the hostname. Maybe I am missing something?

OK. I checked again, now neither one is working.

I installed FireFox and it worked fine at both addresses.

Edit:
I deleted all cookies and temporary internet files in IE and now it is working fine.

Any way to get around this so that I don't have to keep deleting cookies and temp files?

Thanks for all your help
