Article/Faq highlighting breaking on "I" in search

I am using phpMyFAQ 2.8.0.

If I do a search with the letter I in it, as in "How do I fix a car?" the search results return correctly, with highlighting on the words I searched on. If I select a particular FAQ/article to read from those results, however, I get broken HTML in the displayed article. The broken HTML seems to be putting a <span class="highlight"> in the middle of the existing <span class="highlight">from the search results.

This only seems to happen if the search includes the "I"; if I searched for "fix car", everything works fine. I have verified that "i" is in my stopwords, but that doesn't seem to affect the highlighting, which appears to be the issue.
