Allow admin area by IP address

Hi,

I see there's an option in Security area to check IP address, and list those that should be banned from Admin area (folder I guess).
What I want to do is the opposite, to list IP addresses that are allowed to admin area, basically to do the white listing.

I know I can do it via .htaccess and simply list my IP address (and any else) to be allowed to access /admin/ subfolder, and I wonder if there could be any negative impact for other users/visitors. I'm the only admin, and submission of new FAQs and/or questions does not require visitors to be logged in.
