I'm a new user. I'm puzzled as to why sometimes when I log in, or after using the system for a while, I can't find the menu item to add a new question (see attachment). Where has it gone? How do I get it back?
Thanks - Rowan

Thanks for your reply.
Is adding a FAQ the same thing as adding a question? How does a question turn into a FAQ? If this is the case, why does the menu sometimes say "Add a Question" rather than "Add a FAQ"?
Thanks - Rowan

Hi,
"Add a FAQ" is to add a question including an answer, "Add a question" is only for questions. Both a functions for normal frontend users, not admins. Open questions can be answered by users or admins to turn them into FAQs.

Re: Where is the "add a question" menu?
Thank you. It is helpful to understand this.
Is answering a question(by anyone) all that is required to convert it into a FAQ?
Or does the answer have to be approved by someone? Or does the answerer have to have built some level of credibility?
Thanks - Rowan

Hi,
this is configurable: you have the choice to auto-approve FAQs or by approving them from an admin.

Hi,
this is a general option. The admin of the installation has to decide that. In an internal FAQ makes auto-approve some sense.
