Bug with # comments?

Post by canuck »

Hi,
I don't know what's wrong in "Edit Records", but I never see again the number of comments in posts. I think it has something to do with editing a post, because after editing a post, that information was gone, and doesn't come back. I didn't noticed immediately, but I think it was it. I can see the comments in the question page, but not in editing mode. Could you take a look at the code to see what might be wrong? I can't find what's the problem.

I know, that's not the problem. The problem is, as admin, if I press "Edit Records" I get a list of all the questions in the db, with the number of comments (in parenthesis). However, the "(X Comments)" simply dissapeared. The comments however appear when editing, at the bottom, and in the actual FAQ page. I think it never showed again after I edit the first time, when I was using another language file. Maybe this is it. I'll re-install the RC5 with the default language and see if it still stands.

Hi,

I've tested this and this issue does not appear on my test FAQs.... maybe a cache problem with your browser?

Hi Thorsten,

I already tried two fresh installs, and the problem is there. Here is what I did:

After going through the installer.php script to set the db, I logged in as admin and created a category under "Category Administration". After that created two articles with "Create Entry", with blablabla-text, set them both active, and alllowing comments. After that I went to browse the FAQ and create a comment in each one. After that I clicked for Edit Records, I see both (1 Comment) in both questions. I then edit one of the questions and delete the comment in the bottom, clicking the 'x'. After I confirm the deletion, it says The comment was successfully deleted. I then click in the "Startpage" button (not the back) and after in the "Edit Records". Now I don't see the (1 Comment) in the other question!! I tried it two times already. However, the comment is there, because it is reported in the Startpage and in the FAQ.

I tried to give the closest description possible to the problem, see if you can reproduce it. :)

Hi,

I tried to reproduce this but it works on my system. I can ask some other testers if this issue appears on their system.

If you don't believe me, I saved a video that shows everything I did, using xvidcap (curiously, a program that uses phpMyFAQ for its FAQ system). The file is 3MB large, so I won't put the address here, if you want it I can send you the a PM.

bug.mpeg: RIFF (little-endian) data, AVI, 876 x 632, 25.00 fps, video: Microsoft MPEG-4 v2

Or " MS_DIV2 " in xvidcap. It should work in Windows and with mplayer in Linux, if you got all the codecs.

About this problem, I upgraded my php version, and the first time I created a question is still didn't show, it only started to show, curiously, after I changed language. It seems that, for the moment, everything seems fine.
