installation help

Hello,

I am having some problems during installation. I'm using MySQL 4.0 and PHP 4.3.

I receive the following error when I click on the Install phpMyFAQ button:
Error: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES)

I have been able to create,edit and delete databases recently without a problem. I'm sure this stems from something I did during installation of mysql but I do not recall any password. Any ideas on how to correct this?

you've entered a wrong MySQL password.

I had 1.3.9 version, ran the upgrade to 1.4.1 and it went fine, however now I get the same error as this post started with but instead of password yes I have p[assword NO.

Any ideas

ich bei dem Installer kein pw für die DB gesetzt. Da ja local der Username auf root steht. Wenn ich nun PHPFaq installieren will, kommt

Hat das was mit dem DB-pw zutun ? Wenn ja, wie kann ich es umgehen ?

ja, einfach die Abfrage im Code für das Passwort entfernen.
