Approve Record bug in 1.4.5?

Maybe it is just me and my install, but here's my problem.

I can successfully create proposals for the FAQ. When the proposal appears in the admin interface I can't change the "active" flag from no to yes. If I click "yes" and then the "Save" button, I get a successful entry message but the entry has not been changed. Other fields are editable but not the "active" flag. If I make the change to the record manually through phpmyadmin everything works perfectly. What am I doing wrong?

Also, on occasion my "faqdata" table in the database gets stuck "in use" according to phpmyadmin. I just repair the table and everything goes back to normal, which is to say not working quite right!

I'm using phpdev 4.23 from www.firepages.com.au on Windows XP Professional. My server details are...

you're using a alpha version of MySQL 4.0, please upgrade your database. I couldn't reproduce your bug.
