2.6.6 cause incorrect display of Chinese words in DB

2.6.5 all OK.
After upgrade to 2.6.6, all Chinese words in DB including site name and all faq become incorrect display!
Restore to 2.6.5 back to normal.

Encoding is phpMyFAQ default, i. e. UTF-8 -- I wouldn't know how to change that anyway. From what I see, the characters aren't just displayed as garbage, they're stored into the DB as garbage in the first place.

I'm not convinced, but I'd like to give it a try. Problem is, I can't find a RPM source for mysqlclient16-5.1.48. Any ideas?

you could try to create a new database with UTF-8 encoding and you should use unicode client encoding.

How do I know whether the current database is using UTF-8 encoding, and if not, how do I create one? You know that your installation guide doesn't cover the part about creating a database for phpMyFAQ, you may consider adding it.

Anyway, I created my phpMyFAQ database the exact same way as I created my WordPress database -- both on the same server within the same environment. CJK characters work fine in WordPress, but not at all in phpMyFAQ.

As to how to use "Unicode client encoding", I have even less informed.
