Some layout / GUI problems - administration interface

Dear Thorsten

The attached file[1] (a compressed folder) has 9 partial screenshots illustrating some layout problems in the phpMyFAQ's administration interface.
[ Due to technical reasons, only two are present in the body of this post. ]

Some cases are the result of a missing entry in the translation interface, other have other causes. None is critical.

We present some suggestions applicable to layouts in other languages or that – in our opinion – are preferable to be fixed on the base code.

The layout’s language is Portuguese, so we include some comments about the screenshots.

• Screenshot 1 - Statistic – Evaluation
  The value is partially visible - or isn’t visible at all - when the color bar is smaller than the text (red circle).

• Screenshot 2 - Statistic - Session
  Missing "Date and Time" header in the table (red rectangle).
  Untranslated words - not present in the translation interface (yellow shapes): see the next screenshot.
• Screenshot 3 - Statistic - AdminLog
  Some table headers with a correct translation - present (or that should be present) in the previous screenshot (red and yellow shapes).
• Screenshot 4 - Statistic - Search words
  Missing image (and / or percent values) - red shape.
• Screenshot 5 - Content - News
  Table header partially translated (red shape) - please, see screenshot 3.
• Screenshots 6, 7 and 8
  Long translated sentences (in options / links) are difficult to read and / or don’t have enough space between them - a common string
  separator ( " | " or other) in the original code may mitigate this problem in some languages.
  
  • Screenshot 6 - User administration
    "check all" / "uncheck all" - red shapes.
  • Screenshot 7 - Group administration
    "check all" / "uncheck all" - red shapes.
  • Screenshot 8 - Configuration - URL Verifier interface
    Red shapes - spacing problem.
    Untranslated words / sentences (see above) - yellow shapes.

This string comes from Windows, I can't change something there.

Thanks for the hints, they are all fixed in 2.6.16.

This is a missing and/or wrong string in the Portuguese translation. You can fix it by yourself and send me the correct translation.

Do you mean “screenshot 2”? Translated strings in screenshot 3 are correct.

Translation:

• Screenshot 5
  Data → Data e Hora
• Screenshot 2
  Session → Sessão – data:
  (or just Sessão if there are technical restrictions).
  
  IP → Endereço IP
  
  [blank header] → Data e Hora
  
  Session → Sessão
  
  It seems that the Portuguese translation file doesn’t have those entries in English.
  Are there extra lines in the current English version? If so, we could translate them (recently we sent an updated Portuguese version – edited with an external program due to navigation problems in translation interface).

  (but the original is OK if # is used for another item identification)

This string comes from Windows, I can't change something there.

This is not a problem if the string comes from Windows.

We use the MS Windows English version – that is not supposed to happen in a “normal” situation when a translated application version is available/needed...
