Limit "Add FAQ" and "Add Question" to registered users

Post by AllX12 »

Hello all,

Sorry if this question has already been asked and answered many times in the past, but I couldn't find trace of it on the forum or FAQ.
I just installed phpMyFAQ and started to customize it, what I rapidly realized is that anyone can ask and answer questions, which can at time be a good thing, but I would like to limit this possibility to registered members (especially the "add FAQ", or answering of open questions).

I was also wondering if the administrator could tell from the "Edit FAQs" window who wrote an answer to a question? This would allow me to know if the person who has answered is certified/qualified to do so, and so publish the answer, or if I should take a deeper look into the answer before publishing it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply!
Do you have an ETA for the next release or is it still to soon to reveal?
Thanks

Hi,

the next alpha release is planned for the next weeks, but it won't include these features yet.

Thanks,

Is it be possible to remove the links "add FAQ" and "Add Question" altogether from the front end? (This way I would restore them whenever the next build is out.)

My main concern is that my company already has a support center and I don't want to duplicate it here. The purpose of the system would be to allow our support team, or advanced users, to upload FAQs for the rest of the community.

Anyways thanks for the quick response and for a really cool tool, keep up the good work ;)

Hi,

sure, just remove the both links in the index.tpl template file.
