I don't really like describing this as a bug, and I apologise if its posted in the wrong page.I only noticed this while creating a custom template, but see the same issue on the demo here.
When you select a category that has no subcategory, there is an empty <li></li> element. In the default template it is invisible unless you point the cursor to it, then in :hover it can be seen (see attached image). On my own theme, because it uses a background image on the <li> elements it is permanently visible.
Is it possible to add some additional code to prevent creation of the empty <li> element if there is no subcategory?
